Four masked, armed men invade Maya Mopan house

GeneralFour masked, armed men invade Maya Mopan house

BELMOPAN, Cayo District, Sun. July 19, 2020– A house in Maya Mopan was invaded at about 8:00 last night by four men who wore masks on their faces. Two of the men were armed with machetes, and the other two carried guns.

In the house at the time was Gloria Tush, 26, a domestic of Maya Mopan, from whom the men demanded money.

One of the gunmen held Tush at gunpoint, while the other three thieves ransacked the house, looking for money.

When they did not find any money, they stole her husband’s cell phone, valued at $150.

The men then asked for the driver of a vehicle that was parked in the yard, but he was not at home at the time. They then left.

Luckily, Tush was not injured or assaulted.

Tush told police that she and her husband and brother-in-law were attending church, but she went home to use the bathroom, and it was at that time that the robbers entered the house.

She said that she saw three more men standing outside, in addition to the four men who were in the house. Tush told police that she was not mistreated when she told the robbers that she did not have any money
