GeneralGas attendant shot and robbed

BELIZE CITY, Fri. Oct. 23, 2020– A pump attendant for Freetown Road Puma gas station in Belize City was shot and robbed over the weekend, but not before he put up a fight with his attacker.

He is Adrian Perrera, 24, and on Saturday around 6:30 p.m., he was attending to a customer at pump #5 when he was accosted by a dark-complexioned perpetrator dressed in an orange hoodie and long black pants, who was armed with a handgun.

The gunman demanded money from Perrera, but he refused, and a struggle ensued, during which Perrera lost his footing and fell to the ground.

While a vulnerable Perrera was lying on the ground, the gunman shot him once in the body, picked up an undisclosed amount of cash and escaped in the direction of Heusner Crescent.

Police have reviewed security footage from the area, but have no suspects at this time.
