GeneralGunplay in Roaring Creek after Hyde’s death

ROARING CREEK, Cayo District, Wed. Apr. 7, 2021– Police are investigating a string of shooting incidents in Roaring Creek village and its surrounding areas, starting with the Saturday evening murder of Clifford Hyde.

Two of the shootings occurred close to Hyde’s Meat Shop in the village. On Monday morning around 9:00 o’clock, a lone gunman opened fire on two persons standing in front of the establishment. The men were later identified as relatives of the deceased Clifford Hyde. The police are looking for one person in connection with this shooting.

The most recent shooting reportedly occurred on the same street on which the business is located. An 18-year-old, Nelson Nunez, Jr., was grazed in the neck during that shooting and was rushed to the Western Regional Hospital. Fortunately, he survived the attack.

Reports are that he was walking in the “Hattieville” area of Roaring Creek when a gunman exited an SUV and fired in his direction.
