Infant injured during mother’s epileptic attack, dies

GeneralInfant injured during mother’s epileptic attack, dies

LADYVILLE, Mon. Nov. 2, 2020– A three-month-old baby died at the start of the weekend after his mother reportedly squeezed him forcefully while she was experiencing an epileptic attack.  The mother has been identified as 28-year-old Tracey Webstar and the unfortunate incident occurred on Saturday at her Ladyville residence.

After the attack, Webstar visited the police precinct in Ladyville and recounted to investigators what transpired.  She said that at around 8:30 a.m. on Friday, October 30, she was at home nursing her baby when she suffered an epileptic attack that caused her to squeeze the child forcefully and press him onto her body, which suspended the child’s respiratory responses.

The baby was rushed to the hospital for treatment, but was pronounced dead on arrival.  A post-mortem exam will soon be performed on the infant’s body.

Investigators have indicated that they have medical documents which confirm that the mother is an epileptic, but nonetheless, a file will be compiled and forwarded to the Director of Public Prosecutions to determine their next course of action.
