Jaguars (Male) and Stars Senior (Female) are BVA 2018 National Volleyball Champions

BELIZE CITY, Mon. Jan. 29, 2018– The Belize Volleyball Association (BVA) announces the results of the Male & Female National Championship held in Belize City on January 27 and 28 at the SCA Auditorium (for Male and Final matches), as well as the BES Gymnasium (for Female matches).

RESULTS FOR MALES:
In exciting matches, Jaguars prevailed as the National Champions for the third year in a row, defeating Scorpions 2-0 (25-22, 25-19). Jaguars and Scorpions met last year in the final as well.

This year, Scorpions took second place again, and SQ Dragons went home with the bronze medals.

OVERALL FINAL RANKING

#1 Jaguars; #2 Scorpions; #3 SQ Dragons; #4 Toledo King Scorpions; #5 Corozal Massives; #6 OW Bad News; #7 Alpha Warriors.

RESULTS FOR FEMALES:

Stars Senior met last year’s champs Lady Jaguars again in the final match. This year, after three sets, Stars Senior came away with the gold, defeating Lady Jaguars 2-1 (25-11, 24-26, 15-4).  These two teams have been alternating the championship the past couple years. This year, Jaguars took home the silver medals, and Stars Junior took third place.

OVERALL FINAL RANKING

#1 Stars Senior; #2 Lady Jaguars; #3 Stars Junior; #4 Ultra Stars; #5 OW Aces.

The Belize Volleyball Association congratulates the gold medalists, as well as the silver and bronze medalists. Congratulations also go out to all teams for their participation and performances.
