Jose David Funez, 32, a technician of Mahogany Heights, was remanded to prison today after he was charged with carnal knowledge of a female minor, 13 years and 3 months of age.
According to a report, the minor and her mother visited the Family Violence Unit of the Police Department, where the child told police that on November 23, she visited Funez’s home, where they had sex. The child told police that she has known Funez for at least two months, and a doctor who examined the child certified that she was carnally known.
No plea was taken from Funez, as the matter is an indictable one and will be heard in the Supreme Court. He is scheduled to return to court on January 14, 2014.
