A man is charged with the wounding of his common-law wife, the victim claiming that a misunderstanding between herself and the accused ended in her being attacked.
Shaquille Billary, 18, of # 3 Banak Street, was arrested by police yesterday, Sunday, June, 27, 2010, after his common-law wife, Tiffany Francis, 31, a domestic worker, visited the domestic violence unit on Queen Street, at 1:55 p.m., telling them that she had been attacked by Billary, around 10:00 a.m.
Billary, she said, punched her in the face.
Francis visited the doctor, who noted that she had abrasions on her neck, both sides of the face and her left shoulder; she also complained about pain in the left side of her face, which was swollen, allegedly due to the punch.
Billary pleaded not guilty to the charge of wounding, and during the court proceedings he remained composed.
Magistrate Albert Hoare granted Billary bail of $2,500 plus 2 sureties.
