BELIZE CITY, Tues. Mar. 16, 2021– A 22-year-old man was murdered in Belize City, on Elston Kerr Street, on Tuesday night around 8 o’clock. Tyrique Gentle was reportedly standing in a yard when a gunman approached another male person who was in the area and fired several shots. The target of his shots, however, got away — making good his escape on foot.
Immediately after, another gunman accosted Gentle, firing several shots at him, and hitting him multiple times. Reports are that he attempted to run to the back of the yard in which he had been standing, but collapsed and died on the spot.
Gentle, a resident of Antelope Street Extension, was with a friend of his, Kareem Fisher, when the gunmen ambushed them. One of the gunmen was reportedly tall and of a dark complexion.
Police’s investigation continues into this recent Belize City murder, but no motive for the shooting has yet been ascertained.
