Robert Pietio, a resident of #90 Jane Usher Boulevard, pleaded guilty to possession of a controlled drug before Magistrate Hettie Mae Stuart.
Reports are that on April 16 at about 11:30 a.m., W/Sergeant Anderson visited the residence of 8565 JR Street to execute a search warrant for illegal drugs.
On a sill of the house, which stands about 3 feet off the ground, a black plastic bag with suspected cannabis was found. Pietio allegedly told the police officer that it was “just wet weed, lone dust fi mek fudge wit.”
Pietio, 24, an employee of Ministry of Works, was taken to the Mahogany Street Police Station, where the weed was weighed; it amounted to 38.2 grams and he was formally arrested and charged.
Pietio was read the facts of the case and agreed to what was stated; the magistrate accepted his guilty plea and he was fined $1,000, which is to be paid by May 18, 2012. In default of non-payment, Pietio will have to spend six months in jail.
