Man’s throat slashed on Christmas Day in Placencia

GeneralMan’s throat slashed on Christmas Day in Placencia

PLACENCIA, Stann Creek District, Wed. Dec. 27, 2017– Carlos Jackson ran for a short distance and then collapsed, after an unidentified man slashed his throat while he was socializing at a club in Placencia at about 3:30 Christmas morning. People who saw what happened, rushed him to the Placencia Clinic, but the young man, a mere 20-years-old, was declared dead on arrival.

Filberto Choco, Jackson’s coworker (Jackson worked in a restaurant in Placencia), said that they both left work and went socializing, and then they went home to a two-flat house in Placencia where they lived, Jackson living on the lower flat and Choco living upstairs. Choco said that when they got home, Jackson went to his room, and he went upstairs to his, and went to bed.

Sometime that night, Jackson went out again to socialize. He was standing in the yard of a nightclub when the unidentified person attacked him and slashed his throat.

Those who know Jackson said that he was a humble man who had a lot of ambition and goals and worked very hard for what he wanted. They say that one of his many ambitions was to become a professional chef.

Lidia Pop, his supervisor at the Rumfish Restaurant where he was employed, said that Jackson was hardworking, very helpful, always on time, always willing, very friendly, and very easy to talk with. She said he was the kind of person who would “brighten up people if they were feeling down.” She said that his friends and coworkers are devastated by his vicious death, and are mourning his loss.

The police say they are seeking a man who they believe can help them with the investigation into this brutal murder.
