BTL advanced to the Grand Final earlier in the morning when they managed to edge out Team CTC, 3?2, behind the pitching of winning pitcher Mary Flowers. BTL collected 13 hits off the pitching of CTC starter and losing pitcher, Sherlene Banner, while Team CTC only managed to score 2 runs on 6 hits.


After disposing of Unity of Double Head Cabbage, 10?0 in a game where they collected a total of 12 hits to Unity?s 1 hit off Mary Flowers, BTL was barely able to beat Independence PALS in Game Two, finally winning the game, 5?4, scoring 5 runs on 5 hits. Mary Flowers got the win over Leona Linarez and the Independence PALS, who scored their 4 runs on 7 hits.


In the third game, BTL shut out Camalote?s Duurly?s Cristal, 10 to nothing. BTL washed, hung out and folded Camalote?s starter, Kenisha Sutherland, in the second inning, forcing her into a quick exit from the game. Camalote?s Duurly?s Cristal collected only 3 hits off the pitching of Mary Flowers.


Team CTC, in advancing to the finals, defeated Camalote Duurly?s Cristal, 4?3, collecting 10 hits off Kenisha Sutherland, who was having a bad day. Meanwhile, Camalote Duurly?s Cristal scored their 3 runs on 6 hits. Team CTC defeated Double ?G? of Guinea Grass in a 17 ? 0 blowout, collecting 15 hits off the pitching of Yvette Vasquez. CTC?s offense was led by Barbara Cadle?s 3-hit attack, which included a two-run homer in the second inning. In CTC?s first game, they edged Roaring Creek?s Grace Kennedy, 6?5, getting 10 hits off Kenreen Gillett.


In the first game of the championship, Roaring Creek?s Grace Kennedy defeated Independence United, 9?7, with Kenreen Gillett getting the win over Shalini Zabaneh. In a clash of the Orange Walk teams between Guinea Grass? Double ?G? and the Falcons, it was Guinea Grass getting the win and the bragging rights for Orange Walk, beating Falcons, 6?5, and Yvette Vasquez getting the win over Carmita Gongora.


In the 4thgame Camalote Duurly?s Cristal stopped Lords Bank Surise from coming up and defeated them, 10?0, with Francene Salazar getting the win over Sheraine Westby. Game Seven was also another lopsided win when Unity of Double Head Cabbage eliminated the Falcons, 13 ? 3, and then in Game Eight Independence United gave Lords Bank Sunrise another defeat, beating them 12 ? 2.


Roaring Creek?s Grace Kennedy eliminated Unity of Double Head Cabbage, 7?2, in Game 9 and in the tenth game Independence United eliminated their village rivals, Independence PALS, 14?7 in nine innings.


At the end of the games, Charles Solis, Edison Parks and Rudolph Anderson presented the gold, silver and bronze medals along with the individual awards to the winners. Most stolen bases went to Shandy Orellano of Team CTC and Nikita Young of Independence United, who stole 3 bases each. BTL?s Jolene Davis got three awards – most runs batted in, top batting average for the tournament with .562, and tournament MVP. The award for most home runs went to Barbara Cadle of Team CTC, Nikita Young of Independence United, and Shareth Franklin of the Orange Walk Falcons, all of whom slugged one home run each. Grace Kennedy?s Sherlett Gabourel got the best infielder award, while Central American Champion of Champions 2004 MVP, Lydia Cacho of BTL, got one more award to add to her collection – best outfielder. Most wins went to Mary Flowers of BTL, who had a perfect record of 4 wins and no defeats in the tournament.
