More drug planes … more drug planes …

HeadlineMore drug planes … more drug planes …

PUNTA NEGRA, Toledo District, Sun. Jan. 26, 2020– Less than five days after an intact suspected drug plane was found abandoned in the remote area between Crooked Tree, Belize District, and Shipyard, Orange Walk District, on Wednesday morning, another suspected drug plane was found this morning, but this time in a remote area between Monkey River and Punta Negra, Toledo District, in the south of the country.

The plane was seen severely damaged and burnt. It is believed that it crash-landed and it was deliberately destroyed. The person or persons that were riding in the plane and what it was carrying were nowhere it to be found.

Investigation into the crash and destruction of this, yet another suspected drug plane, has begun.

The area was only accessible by sea and the Coast Guard, along with police, went to the location, where they found the destroyed plane. No other details are known.

Speaking on the other drug plane found between Orange Walk and Belize District on Wednesday, Commissioner of Police Chester Williams said that the plane was found intact. The police had gotten the information that the plane was coming from Venezuela, and it was to have landed in Mexico, but on its arrival in Mexico, the Mexican air survellance was active and three planes were deployed to intercept the suspected drug plane, causing it to be unable to land in Mexico, and it diverted to Belize and landed in that area of Belize which is remote, and very difficult to get to.

Williams said that he believes that the cargo taken from the plane, and the men who were traveling in it are still somewhere in the area. He said that law enforcement teams have been deployed to search the entire area to find the men and the cargo.
