BELIZE CITY, Tues. June 21, 2022 

   The Belize City branch of the National Basketball Tournament 2022 got underway on Tuesday, June 14, at the Marion Jones Sports Complex in Belize City. The tournament is being coordinated countrywide by the National Sports Council.

   The following are the teams participating in the different categories of the competition in the Belize District:

   U-15 Teams – 24/8; ABS Hardrock; Future Champs; Grace Primary; 501 Gators; Little Jaguars.

   U-18 Teams – We Got Game; OTM Ballers; Car Guys; 501 Gators; ABS Hardrock; FSN Vision; Boy Warrior.

   Open – Eagles SC; Garcia’s Motors; Belama Gators; Westland; No Limit; Island Ballaz; Truckers Posse; Boom Ballers; Tuff E Nuff; 501 Falcons; Complex Titans.

Week 1 results

Tuesday, June 14

   (Open) Garcia’s Motors defeated Eagles SC, 60-57. For Garcia’s Motors – Joe Broaster 27 pts; for Eagles SC – Marcus Lewis 10 pts.

   (Open) Westland won, 52-43, over No Limit. Westland – John Kelly 22 pts; No Limit – Gregory Rudon 15 pts.

Wednesday, June 15

   (U18) We Got Game blew out OTM Ballers, 69-18. We Got Game – Cameron Heusner 20 pts; OTM Ballers – Marquis Rodriguez and Jaelon Savery 6 pts each. 

   (U18) 501 Gators prevailed, 37-32, over Car Guys.  501 Gators – Jameer Young 14 pts; Car Guys – Michael Caceres 11 pts.

    (U18) ABS Hardrock crushed FSN Vision, 66-28. ABS Hardrock – Devin Moody 18 pts; FSN Vision – Raheem Martinez 8 pts.

Thursday, June 16

   (Open) Truckers Posse won, 74-53, over Boom Ballers. Truckers Posse – Ashton Edwards 18 pts; Boom Ballers – Devon Brown 15 pts.

   (Open) Hardrock defeated Complex Titans, 70-62. Hard Rock – Raheem Thurton 17 pts; Complex Titans – Francis Arana 18 pts.

Week 2 results

Monday, June 20

   (U15) ABS Hardrock bombarded Grace Primary, 94-10. ABS Hardrock – Daniel Musa 19 pts; Grace Primary – Gary Peters 9 pts.

   (U15) 24/8 defeated 501 Gators, 26-15.  24/8 – Calvin Thurton 5 pts; 501 Gators – Dario Cruickshank 5 pts.

   (Open) Hardrock won by default (20-0) over Tuff E Nuff.

5:30 p.m. – (Open) Belama Gators vs Westland
