The girl put stuffed toys under her blanket to make her mother think she was still in bed

The neighbor, 30, of a 12-year-old girl is in big trouble and is on the run from police after it was discovered that he had engaged the minor in sexual intercourse in his house at about 3:30 Saturday morning, April 13, in Paraiso Village, Corozal.

The mother and child went to the Corozal Police Station on Monday, April, 15, where the child informed police that she had been engaging in sexual intercourse with the neighbor.

The child was taken to the Corozal Hospital on Monday for a medical examination, and a doctor certified that she has been sexually active.

The mother of the girl told police that early Saturday morning, about 3:30 a.m., she checked for her daughter and shouted for her in her room, but there was no answer. She then approached her daughter’s bed and pulled the blanket and was surprised to see that her daughter was not in bed. On the bed were stuffed toys that were covered with the blanket, to give the appearance of someone sleeping.

After looking for her daughter around the house, the mother went to search for her at her neighbor’s house. She knocked on his door, but he refused to open the door.

Police were called, and they ordered the neighbor to open the door. When the door was opened and police went in, they found the girl in his bed.

The girl was returned to her mother, but the man was not detained. It was only on Monday after the doctors examined the girl and found that she had been carnally known that an attempt was made to arrest the 30-year-old man, who was by then nowhere to be found.
