BELMOPAN, Tues. Oct. 19, 2021– On Tuesday, October 19, the Ministry of Health and Wellness announced that it will be opening additional free COVID-19 testing sites across some of the major municipalities countrywide.

In Punta Gorda Town, testing will be offered in the Red Cross building. In Dangriga Town, the BTL Park will serve as a mobile testing site. In the San Ignacio/Santa Elena Area (SISE), the Santa Elena Sports Council will be repurposed into a testing site, and there will also be free testing at Falcon Field. In Northern Belize, there will be seven new testing sites: four in Orange Walk at the Central Park, Louisiana Government School, Banquitas, and People’s Stadium and three in Corozal at the Civic Center, Chunox Health Center and the San Andres Community Center.

These sites, in addition to the recently established sites at the Belmopan Civic Center and the Belize City Civic Center in Belize, will be open on weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. to all persons, except those wishing to be tested for travel purposes. There will be no costs associated with testing at these sites.

A release from the Ministry of Health and Wellness states, “The Ministry of Health & Wellness continues to encourage persons to get tested and to continue to practice the COVID-19 safety protocols at all times.”
