New Year babies

HighlightsNew Year babies

BELIZE CITY, Mon. Jan. 3, 2022– This morning the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital (KHMH) announced the birth of the first baby to be delivered at the hospital for the new year. The occasion is usually marked by that institution as a sign of hope and renewal for the new year. Joezeelee Estrada gave birth to a baby boy, weighing 7 pounds 3 ounces, at 9:39 a.m. on New Year’s Day— a rather late arrival in comparison to previous New Year’s Day births at the hospital.

The post from the KHMH says, “The New Year is a time of hope and renewal for the future. And nothing punctuates that more than the birth of babies. Our New Year Babies came a bit late this year, with the first birth at 9:39 on New Year’s Day.”

The second baby born at the KHMH for this year is a girl, born to Shala Smith. Her name is Shaya.

We express congratulations to both mothers and welcome the newest Belizean citizens to our country and world.
