BELIZE CITY, Sun. Nov. 29, 2020– A Belize City man was fatally stabbed by his niece on the night of Saturday, November 28.  The victim has been identified as Renickle Hemmans, 41.

On the night in question, at around 9:20 p.m., Hemmans and his niece, Courtney Trapp, 21, were at a residence on Antelope Street Extension when they became embroiled in an argument over Trapp’s missing cell phone.

The heated encounter resulted in Trapp going into the residence for a short while, only to return with a knife, which, police say, she used to allegedly stab Hemmans in the chest.
Hemmans was taken to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital for treatment, but died a short time later.

Trapp is in police custody and is expected to be charged with murder.
