GeneralNo arrest for BDF soldier’s RTA death

TOLEDO DISTRICT, Mon. June 21, 2021– Last week, we reported on a fatal road traffic accident which claimed the life of Jamie Sho, a 33- year-old BDF soldier from the Cayo District.

Sho was driving his red and black 250 cc Lifan motorcycle when he collided with a white Digi truck being driven by field technician Jerry Nicholas. Both vehicles were extensively damaged and Sho was found lying motionless on the left side of the San Antonio Road.

He was pronounced dead upon arrival at the Punta Gorda Hospital. Today, in a weekly police press briefing, the Police Department’s communications director, ASP Fitzroy Yearwood, said that police are working on “piecing together the investigation” and added that they have not hastened to press charges but, as is typical, a notice of intended prosecution has been served.

Reports are that, while driving the truck with which Sho’s motorcycle collided, Nicholas saw Sho traveling in his lane and attempted to alert him by repeatedly honking his horn. This was to no avail, and the motorcycle ultimately collided into the front left portion of the vehicle.

Police’s investigation into the incident continues.
