Dear Editor,

Please allow me space in your widely circulated medium to clarify comments made in the Guardian newspaper of Sunday, October 25, 2015 regarding me being fired from Love FM earlier this year. This false comment was made in the context of an article whose sole purpose was to disparage my character because I dared to ask two relevant questions at the press conference held at the launching of the UDP manifesto this last Wednesday. I am seeking legal advice.

I won’t respond to the contents of the article because it was written with one purpose in mind, but there is a comment that needs clarification because it is not only false but it perpetuates a false narrative about why I am not with Love FM.

I was never fired from Love FM, because I was never employed by Love FM. For sixteen years I came in the mornings, did the show on those days I was on, and then went on to my regular employment. I did this for sixteen years under a gentleman’s agreement with the owners of the station. I was given a small monthly stipend to cover my phone and gas. That’s it. No tax, or social security was required of me. The separation came on the base of a principle and came after a conversation between Rene Villanueva, Sr., his son, and myself.

I dare any one to produce the evidence for anything different.

Nuri Muhammad
