Peters allegedly stabbed Thomas Ferguson, 44, once in the chest

This morning, Oliver Peters, 37, an electrician of #7173 Arlington Drive, was arraigned before Chief Magistrate Anne-Marie Smith on charges of attempted murder, dangerous harm and use of deadly means of harm.

According to police, at 12:20 Saturday morning, Thomas Ferguson, 44, of the same same address, got into an argument with Peters, his nephew, which quickly turned physical. Peters then grabbed a kitchen knife and allegedly stabbed Ferguson once in the center of the chest.

Ferguson was taken to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital, where he was admitted in a critical condition.

Peters was unrepresented when he appeared this morning in court, where no pleas were taken from him due the nature of his offenses.

He was remanded to the Belize Central Prison, and is scheduled to appear back in court on January 21, 2014.
