BELIZE CITY, Mon. Oct. 19, 2020– A Belizean pharmacist was found in possession of cocaine on Caye Caulker and is now in trouble with the law.

He is Albert Requeña, 31, of a New Road address in Belize City.

Based on a tip, on Saturday, October 10, at 8:50 a.m., police officers from the Special Branch of the Police Department and relief personnel visited Luciano Reyes Street, where they conducted a search on Requeña and four other persons — Tyrique Good, Darwin Martinez, Erlin Neal, and Tyriq Silva.

Those four men were not found with anything incriminating. However, a search of a black Columbia- brand school bag carried by Requeña resulted in a discovery of 172 $50.00 notes totalling $8,600, and a saran-wrapped parcel containing 2.78 pounds of cocaine.

Requeña was arraigned for possession of a controlled drug with intent to supply before Senior Magistrate Aretha Ford, who remanded him to prison until December 17, 2020, due to the seriousness of the case.

Leeroy Banner argued for bail on Requena’s behalf.
