GeneralPolice make arrest for stabbing at Vernon St. home

BELIZE CITY, Tues. Nov. 9, 2021 — On Tuesday, November 9, 2021, a local fisherman and resident of Belize City was charged for the murder of Adrian Hyde, 24, whose body was found with stab wounds on Sunday night on the porch of his home on Vernon Street.

Hyde had reportedly been socializing with a group of friends and family members at his home in the hours leading up to his death, but initially no one had come forward to indicate to police what had led to the fatal attack and who did it. After carrying out an investigation, however, police identified 24-year-old Malique Gentle as the person who stabbed Hyde during an altercation between the two men.

The arrest was made two days after the incident.
