Police suspect arson – over $1,000 worth of material destroyed

Police are investigating an alleged arson that occurred over the weekend in Orange Walk Town, which has left a teacher with over a thousand dollars in fire damages.
 
On Sunday, September 9, a fire ignited inside the unfinished home of Luis Cardenas, 38, a teacher of Santa Familia Village. Cardenas told police that sometime between the hours of 12:00 noon and 4:00 p.m., on September 9, someone set on fire his mattress, some lumber and a bag of cement.
 
According to Cardenas these items were inside his unfinished concrete building situated on the Belize Corozal Road in Orange Walk Town.
 
Police say they are seeking one suspect, but have not yet released his identity.
