LADYVILLE, Belize District, Fri. Mar. 19, 2021– The Belize Defence Force (BDF) headquarters at Price Barracks are currently undergoing several infrastructural developments. These developments were started after the Minister of National Defence and Border Security’s tour at the site, where he saw the immediate need for renovations.

Hon. Florencio Marin, Jr., Minister of National Defence and Border Security, unveiled plans for the improvement of the facility yesterday, Thursday, March 18. Since taking on the mantle of Minister of National Defence and Border Security, Hon. Florencio Marin, Jr., has placed an emphasis on inspection of the conditions of all military sites across Belize.

Following the inspection of Price Barracks, Minister Marin saw an urgent need to make some improvements there. The newly refurbished restrooms at the barracks now include modern solar-powered heating systems, advanced sewerage systems, and a novel water reservoir system.

“The welfare of the men and women of the security forces of Belize are [my] greatest priority,” said Hon. Marin. The renovations are welcomed by the Deputy Commandant of the BDF, Asariel Loria, who said, “This gesture of good faith by the Ministry of National Defence is well- received by the men and women of the BDF.”

Works are scheduled to continue on the five other buildings at Price Barracks.
