BELIZE CITY, Fri. July 20, 2018– Around 7:15 last night, Raymond Arnold, 34, a stevedore, was on his way home to Rivero Street after work when he was fatally shot. Arnold, in the company of another stevedore, had been riding his bicycle on Central American Boulevard from the direction of Port of Belize, where he is employed, when the shooting occurred.
As Arnold was riding, another man on a motorcycle approached from behind them and fired two shots. The two gunshots struck him in the right upper chest and left lower abdomen.
Residents of the area who heard the shots claimed that they saw him staggering, on the sidewalk. Arnold was rushed in a critical condition to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital, where he died while receiving treatment.
His family has declined to talk to the media. Police are currently investigating the matter.
