Two women, Dorette Vernon, 43 and Gloria Henry, 42 were inside Vernon’s house on Racoon Street Extension last night when a man barged in. The robber held them up with a knife and ordered them to the ground. He then tied their hands behind their backs. A third person arrived and he too was tied up. The robber got away with cell phones and cash.
AMANDALA, a biweekly newspaper published on Tuesdays and Fridays, was founded as an organ of the United Black Association for Development (UBAD), which emerged on August 13, 1969. Even after UBAD was divided and later dissolved in 1974, AMANDALA remained.
