SportsRural Female Softball Marathon completed, tournament resumes

BELIZE CITY, Thurs. June 16, 2016–The Rural Female Softball Tournament took a break this past weekend for the completion of the season opening Marathon, which had been suspended before completion. In game 1 on Sunday, June 12, in Lords Bank, Easy Does It won (7-0) by forfeit over Lords Bank Sunrise. Easy Does It then clipped Orchid Girls (from Burrell Boom), 5-4, behind winning pitcher Margret Hendy; while Therese Baptist took the loss. And in the last game for the Marathon championship, Orchid Girls prevailed, 23-21, over Easy Does It. Winning pitcher was Arneek Baptist, while Margret Hendy got the loss.

The regular season of the Belize Rural Female Softball Tournament 2016, resumes this weekend with games at two different venues for Division A and Division B teams.

Division A – Lords Bank Sunrise (Lords Bank); UB Jaguars (Belmopan); Exotic Girls (Hattieville); Orchid Girls (Burrell Boom).

Division B – Double Head Cabbage (Double Head); Easy Does It (Flowers Bank); Beverly Hill Flames (Lords Bank); Arrows (Bermudian Landing).

Sunday, June 19

Division A games in Hattieville
1:00 p.m. – UB Black Jaguars vs Orchid Girls
3:00 p.m. – Lords Bank Sunrise vs Exotic Girls
Division B games in Lords Bank
1:00 p.m. – Arrows vs Double Head Cabbage
3:00 p.m. – Easy Does It vs Beverly Hill Flames
