In the ensuing sprint for the remaining eight positions, Maurice Kelly who came in 9thin the Belmopan Classic, surprised everyone by beating one of Belize?s best sprinters Roque Matus, as well as veteran Fitzgerald ?Palas? Joseph, who is coming into his own, and Santino ?the Chief? Castillo, giving them 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6threspectively. Along with their trophies and medals, the above riders also received 12, 10, 8 and 7 points respectively towards ?Cyclist of the Year?. Rounding off 7ththru 10thwere, Chris Peyrefitte, Kenneth Butler, Raymond Hyde, and Hartman King, earning medals as well as 6, 5, 4 and 3 points, respectively. The next race in this series is on Saturday, May 7, from August to Belmopan at 6:30 a.m., which is a prep race for the Cross Country in this category scheduled for May 22.
