GeneralShedrack White, 44, remanded for Pound Yard murder

BELIZE CITY, Mon. Aug. 3, 2020– An investigation into the fatal stabbing of William Emmanuel Rubio, 47, a laborer of Belize City who was stabbed in his chest at about 7:30 Wednesday night in front of the Pound Yard Bridge Taxi Stand, led to Shedrack White, 44.

White, who is unemployed, was charged for murder and taken to the Belize City Magistrate’s Court on Friday, and was remanded until October 1.

Reliable reports indicate that Rubio became involved in an altercation with White, and White allegedly stabbed him in the chest, and then fled. Rubio was rushed to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital, where he was declared dead on arrival.

Police on patrol were driving on Cemetery Road towards the Pound Yard Bridge when they saw a man running towards Constitution Park, then they were alerted that a stabbing had just occurred.

Police ran after and caught the man, later identified as Shedrack White.
