GeneralShots fired to break up fight between rival gangs

BELIZE CITY, Fri. Apr. 17, 2020– Rival gang members were engaged in a fight this morning near Belizean Meat Pies on Baghdad Street. Police intervened and shots were fired to disperse them, and the men who were engaged in the brawl were taken into custody. Luckily, no one was injured.

Commissioner of Police Chester Williams said that the fight this morning was between the Majestic Alley gang and a rival gang. Williams said that the men are not to believe that they can upset the peace, and he said that such actions will not be tolerated. Police are focusing on the COVID-19 pandemic and the State of Emergency, and the criminals will be returned to jail if they cause disruptions in the community, he said.

Members of the Majestic Alley gang and the rival gang were rounded up and taken to a meeting this evening, where they were reminded that if they are disruptive in any way, they will be returned to jail.
