BELIZE CITY, Thurs. June 2, 2016–Things are heating up in the Smart 13 & Under Mundialito competition, being played every Saturday at the MCC Grounds. Only 4 of the 11 participating teams will make it to the 4-team knockout playoffs, and with 4 more regular season weekends remaining, the race is tight for the 4 playoff spots. (See Standings below at the end of Week 7.) Leading goal scorers at Week 7 are Rashied Lord of City Boys with 4 goals, followed by Eldon Byrd of Brown Bombers with 3.
Week 8 games are scheduled for this Saturday, and on Sunday there will be the now traditional showcase games featuring All Stars North vs South followed by the coaches vs officials game.
