Dear Editor,
Congratulations to the winning party in the national elections. May the government continue striving harder to meet the needs of the people.
In Toledo, I have driven on the fine road being built, which will bring development.
In Ontario, Canada, some highways have brought unplanned development. I have read that random businesses lining the road, or “strip” development is bad development. May there be a plan that will benefit the people of Toledo, but retain the tourist-drawing charm of the region.
The Garifuna and Mayan cultures are part of that charm. It has kept me coming back, twice a year, for 22 years.
Which lends truth to the saying, “The true wealth of a nation is in its people.”
