Theft reported in Belize City and San Pedro

CrimeTheft reported in Belize City and San Pedro

Boat and golf cart stolen

Police report that a boat valued at $55,000 has been stolen from the Conch Shell Bay area of the city, and a golf cart valued at $16,000 has been stolen from San Pedro sometime between 5:30 Thursday evening and 8:00 Friday morning.

Jermaine Rowland, a fisherman of the city, told police that he moored Belizean Breeze, his red-and-green 25-foot fiberglass boat, with its 200 horse power Yamaha outboard engine, serial number 708051, valued at $55, 000, at the end of the canal, close to the river in the Conch Shell Bay area.

On his return Friday morning, the boat was nowhere to be found. Police have launched an investigation, but so far, neither the boat nor the engine has been recovered.

At about 10:00 last night, Glenda Sanchez, a businesswoman of San Juan area, San Pedro Town, parked her red-and-black Club Cart, with license plate SPC#1483, on Caribbean Street and went into an establishment to use the rest room.

When she returned to where she had parked her club cart, the cart was nowhere to be found. She then made a formal report to the police.

Police are seeking public assistance in recovering the two properties. Anyone with information that can help police recover the items are urged to call the nearest police station or 0800 922 TIPS.
