GeneralTwo injured in Fabers Road shooting

Belize City, Sat. Sept. 25, 2021– On Saturday, September 25, a 19-year-old, Paul Bood, and another man, Alex Faber, 34, were injured during a shooting incident in the Fabers Road Extension area.

According to police reports, around 6:25 p.m. that day, the duo were socializing on the stairs of Bood’s house at the corner of Singh and Jimmy Dyer Streets when an unidentified man entered Bood’s yard and fired several shots in their direction.

Both men were wounded during the shooting. When police arrived at the scene, they found both Bood and Faber with gunshot injuries to the body. The two men were transported to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital. Faber and Bood we’re both reported to be in a stable condition. Following treatment, both persons were discharged from the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital.

When the Police Department’s Scenes of Crime personnel surveyed the scene of the shooting, they found several expended shells. Blood swabs were also collected. Police continue to investigate the incident, but have not yet determined a motive for the attack. The department presumes that the shooting is a result of an ongoing dispute in the area, but the reluctance of the community to communicate with the police department impairs the police’s ability to obtain all the relevant facts of the case.
