The Orange Walk Football Association (OWFA) 1st Division Amateur 2022-2023 Opening Season tournament continued over the weekend with Week 4 games at the Louisiana Football Field. Two games were played on Saturday night, November 26, and five on Sunday, November 27.

Saturday, November 26 results

In the opening game at 7:00 p.m., Trinidad shut out Guinea Grass Lazio, 3-0, with goals from Enrique Cecena (19’) and Adair Duran (45’ & 47’).

And in the nightcap, Progresso and Louisiana FC played to a 1-1 draw. Oswaldo Dominguez’s auto goal (74’ AG) gave opponents, Louisiana, a 1-nil lead, but his teammate Tivi Ramos (87’) got the equalizer for Progresso.

Sunday, November 27 results

Game 1 at 9:00 a.m. on Sunday was another draw game, this time 2-2 between Palmar and San Felipe, as Jose Casanova (15’ & 74’) struck twice for Palmar, and Alden Itzab (61’ & 72’) did the same for San Felipe.

In game 2 at 11:00 a.m., San Antonio dropped San Jose, 6-2, with goals coming from Axel Alamilla (13’ & 35’), Amilcar Alamilla (17’), Liam Reyes (52’ & 46’) and Brandon Amaya (88’); while Erick Osorio (61’ & 70’) netted both goals for San Jose.

Game 3 at 1:00 p.m. saw San Jose Pumas with the 4-2 win over Red Devils, with Michael Rivas (10’, 45’, 68’ & 92’) scoring all 4 goals for Pumas; while Red Devils got a goal each from Bryton Puck (30’) and Carlos Salazar (87’).

Game 4 at 3:00 p.m. was a burning 1-nil affair in injury time, as the only goal by Darel Corado (91’) gave Guinea Grass the 1-0 victory over Mi Gente.

And in the nightcap game 5 at 5:00 p.m., Charlies Cave Tubing crushed San Francisco, 4-1, with goals from Diego Chan (45’ & 80’), Doroteo Arjona (71’) and Brian Cartaquena (86’), after San Francisco had taken an early lead with a goal from Johanne Romero (3’)
