Women’s League football resumes with Week 3 games

SportsWomen’s League football resumes with Week 3 games

BELIZE CITIY, Thurs. Apr. 21, 2022– Following a two-week break for international matches and the Easter holidays, the National Amateur Women’s League (NAWL) resumes its 2022 Opening Season with Week 3 football games scheduled for this coming weekend.

There are 10 teams in this tournament and they are divided into two Divisions, A and B. (See below.) As their name indicates, San Pedro Pirates FC is from San Pedro; Rumberas and Sagitun Girlz are both from Mango Creek, Independence; Wagiya United SC is from Dangriga; Jewel Fury represents Belmopan; Verdes Rebels, Cayo Dreamers and Santa Elena Strikers are all from the Cayo District; and Bay City FC and Corozal United Warriors hail from the Corozal District. Just before the start of this competition, Juventus Sugar Girls FC of Orange Walk pulled out; and there is also no team in the tournament from Toledo or from Belize City, the major population center of the nation.

Saturday, April 23
4:00 p.m. – (A) Verdes Rebels vs Rumberas – Norman Broaster Stadium

4:00 p.m. – (A) San Pedro Pirates vs Sagitun Girlz – Ambergris Stadium

3:00 p.m. – (B) Wagiya SC Ladies vs Santa Elena Strikers – Carl Ramos Stadium

Sunday, April 24

3:00 p.m. – (B) Cayo Dreamers vs Bay City FC – Norman Broaster Stadium
