GeneralXaibe man found dead at community center

Xaibe Village, Corozal District, Mon. July 19, 2021– On Monday, July 19, the Corozal Police Formation responded to a report that a man’s body was found near the community center in Xaibe Village. The dead man was later identified as 44-year-old Feliciano Cristino Tzul, a fruit and vegetable vendor in the village.

Upon conducting an investigation, police learned that Tzul had been last seen drinking at about 8:00 o’clock on the morning prior to the discovery of his body. He was reportedly in the company of some friends at that time. According to reports, about an hour later, the group proceeded to a nearby community center to seek shelter from the rain.

Sources said that some time later, the group left, leaving Tzul alone in a drunken state. When he was found by the police, he was at the same location, lifeless and in a seated position on the ground. The police noted that there were no visible signs of violence on his body, but that they are processing the scene to determine what occurred.
