General13, 14-year-old victims of Thurs night shooting!

Our newspaper does not know whether the boy was the target of the gunmen, as he was socializing with two relatives outside. The boy?s father, sister and baby nephew were inside the home.

The shooter or shooters pulled up in what appeared to be a gray Toyota and began their shooting behind Meighan?s house. A yellow house, #6959 Lavender Street, whose residents were not at home at the time, was shot up before the car circled the block and shot in the direction of Meighan?s house on Haulze Street in the St. Martin de Porres area.

As many as 7 shots were fired, said police.

The boy?s father said he rushed him to the KHMH on his bicycle, the only means of transportation he had at the time. The boy is reportedly in a serious but stable condition, according to police sources.

When Amandala visited the area, police were canvassing between the two streets in attempts to recover expended shells from the area. They were trying to piece together what may have led to this shooting.

There was no one at home at the yellow house when we visited tonight.

Meighan said that his son was on his verandah with other relatives, but no one else was harmed.

Police say they do not have any evidence to suggest that the two shootings tonight are related. (See story, ?Drive by? at Dean and Plues ? Alpheus Smith shot, on a page 3 of this issue for the second shooting incident.)

The second teen on Haulze Street, the 14-year-old, injured his arm, but it is uncertain exactly how his injury happened.

Seven shooting victims have been recorded in the past seven days. The victims are Errol Hinds, 21, shot at the intersection of Evergreen and Peter Seco Streets on Sunday, February 19; Kareem Wright, 22, shot at the corner of King Street and Euphrates Avenue on February 18; Ernesto Lewis, a man in his thirties shot in the Banana Bank robbery on February 17; and Sherwin Nunez, 32, Carlos Abraham, 34, and Nikki Picart, 20, shot at an alley mouth near Banak Street on Wednesday, February 22.
