American livestock farmer chopped to death

HeadlineAmerican livestock farmer chopped to death

XAIBE, Corozal District, Fri. Sept. 11, 2015–John Ross, 46, an American who lived in Xaibe for about 6 years and who earned an income by raising sheep and chicken, was found dead on Tuesday morning on his farm located on the outskirts of the village. He had been chopped in the head, neck and face, and his right arm was missing. The gruesome discovery was made by some men from the village who went to look for him to buy some sheep.

When they went to the scene, police found Ross lying face-up near a septic tank in his yard. Police subsequently detained three men, but Superintendent Dennis Arnold, Commander of Corozal Police, told Amandala that they had been released because the alibis they offered were credible. Police, however, are looking for two other men of the area, who they believe can assist the investigation.

At the time of his vicious murder, Ross was living alone. The motive for his murder is still unknown.
