At a meeting chaired by former BFA/BNFA chairman Mr. Luis Pena at the Belmopan Red Cross Building on Sunday, October 30, six of the ten registered Belmopan District Clubs, namely, Camalote FC, Maya Mopan Juniors, Ramon’s United, Aguilas, Las Flores, and Capital United, endorsed the BNFA (Belmopan National Football Association) as the body they want representing their interests in that district.

The clubs represented at the meeting promised to get their documentation in order by the due date (sometime this week), as required by the FIFA Road Map to restore transparency in the leadership of football in Belize.

The BNFA, led by Mr. Peter Alvarez and Mr. Brian Mira, committed to engage the four clubs not at the meeting for the purpose of gaining their support in anticipation of the district elections which are to be held countrywide by December 31, 2011. The four clubs not at the meeting, namely Camalote Amigos, Banana Bank Galaxy, Blackman Eddy, and Club Atlético, reportedly were at an all-day marathon in one of the villages, a tournament to which they had committed prior to receiving the invitation to meet with the BNFA Executive.
