BELIZE CITY, Mon. Sept. 25, 2017–The Conscious Youth Development Programme (CYDP) kicked off its Football Peace Cup 2017 regular season over the weekend with games on Saturday and Sunday at the MCC Grounds.

According to the tournament schedule, the 13 teams are divided into two groups of 7 and 6 teams, respectively, with each group playing a single round-robin regular season, followed by the playoffs. Group One teams are: Police United FC, Kelly Street FC, Face of Belize, BDF Warriors, Tut Bay FC, FC Elite, and Kingspark Strikers; while Group Two consists of: Third World FC, Police Street FC, Survivors United, RG City Boys United, Stars Academy, and Ebony Lake FC.

In game 1 on Saturday, Kelly Street FC bombed Police United FC, 10-1, with 4 goals from Steven “Breds” Baizer and 1 each from Kienen Lopez, Tyrique Muschamp, Delroy “Tin Man” Andrews, John King and Naim Wilson, along with an own goal from Police United’s Robert Sutherland; while Police United’s only goal was by Jeremy Archer. In the scheduled game 2, BDF Warriors won by default over Face of Belize. And in game 3, Stars Academy FC defeated Ebony Lake FC, 3-1, with 2 goals from Dion Cacho and the other from Sergio “Checko” Luna; while Marquise Stamp scored for Ebony Lake.

In Sunday’s opener, Elite FC got the 2-1 win over Tut Bay. FC Elite got a goal each from Orlando Velasquez and Brandon Cacho; while Gilroy Thurton tallied for Tut Bay. Game 2 saw Police Street FC disciplining Third World, 5-1, with 2 goals each from Tyrique Suazo and Hubert Baptist, and 1 from Francis Arana; while Third World’s goal was by David McCaulay, Jr. And in the last scheduled game of the day, RG City Boys United won by default over Survivors United.
