LettersLetter to the Editor: Fix Moho Street, says handicapped California Dangrigan

Dear Mayor Francis Humphreys,

Dangriga Town Council,

I left Dangriga, Belize on August 10th, 1960, and the streets were not paved. Then after 56 years and returning to my beautiful country on 3/16, I see that all looks the same. 56 years ago I was able to walk the streets easier, unlike now. I am handicapped and it has become harder to do so. I visited for two weeks and it was hard for me to commute and visit friends and family. I have paid taxes on time and am currently up to date, as some of my fellow neighbors. I believe that our streets should be better taken care of. I will not be returning, as it is difficult for me, until my street, 18 Moho Street, has been paved and rid of potholes and any other hazardous, unsafe parts on our street. I’m writing this letter on behalf of all fellow handicapped persons. It seems to me that our Belize Government is not fully prepared to accommodate handicapped people.

Sincerely,

Ruth E. Martinez
