As part of the ongoing cooperation in health between the Government of Republic of China (Taiwan) and the Government of Belize, an eleven-member medical team from Taiwan arrived in Belize on September 10, 2007.
The medical team will offer its services in the Corozal and Toledo Districts. In Corozal, the team will assist in the medical efforts after the passage of Hurricane Dean. The team will then move on to the Toledo District, where they will be providing medical services at the Punta Gorda Hospital.
The Taiwan Mobile Medical Mission is comprised of a pediatrician, cardiologist, internal specialist, general surgeon, dentist, pharmacist, urologist, medical technician and nurses.
As a further gesture of goodwill to the Government and people of Belize, the Taiwan Mobile Medical Mission will donate to the Ministry of Health medical supplies and equipment which they will be bringing as part of their mission.
The team will leave the country on September 21, 2007.
