BELIZE CITY, Fri. July 3, 2015–Loani Alvarez, 17, of Ladyville, left home last week on the morning of Thursday, June 25, and has failed to return.
Her mother, Marisela Galdamez, went to the police and reported her missing on Friday, June 26, and shortly after, the girl called her mother and reported that she was okay and that she was with a friend, but when the mother called back to ask where she was, she could not reach her and the calls went to voice mail.
The mother reported that the girl called back later that same Friday and said that she had been beaten, tied up and kept locked up in a room, but when the mother tried to press for details, the phone went silent, and since then, she could not contact her daughter in spite of the many phone calls she has made.
If anyone knows or sees Loani Alvarez or has information that could lead to her recovery, please contact the nearest police station or call 0800-922 TIPS. Her parents can be contacted at 660-5212 or 607-1246.
Alvarez has been missing for 11 days now.
