HOPKINS, Stann Creek District, Mon. Mar. 25, 2019– The Football Federation of Belize’s (FFB) National Beach Soccer Championship 2019 was held yesterday in Hopkins Village, where the third place and championship finals were followed by the issuing of trophies and awards.
In the 3rd Place match, Seine Bight Christ Warriors won, 4-2, over Dangriga Beach Soccer. Kenyon Martinez (5’, 26’ & 28’) and Devin Guzman (29’) did the scoring for Seine Bight, while Kareem Haylock (13’) and Carlos Bent (23’) tallied for Dangriga.
The championship match saw Belmopan Invaders defeating Hopkins Ibayani, 3-2, with goals from Jose Galdamez (11’) and Marlon Meza (17’ & 27’), while Hopkins got a goal each from Devanny Tillett (13’) and Wayne Ford (35’).
Belmopan Invaders are therefore the 2019 Beach Soccer National Champions; in 2nd Place was Hopkins Ibayani; 3rd was Seine Bight Christ Warriors; and 4th, Dangriga Beach Soccer.
Individual awards were: MVP – Marlon Meza (Belmopan Invaders); Most Goals (10 goals each) – Marlon Meza (Belmopan Invaders) and Wayne Ford (Hopkins Ibayani); Best Goalkeeper – James Nunez (Hopkins Ibayani); and Best Coach – Dennis Serano (Dangriga Beach Soccer).
