Belize loses 6-1 to Salvador, FFB nominations close Friday

SportsBelize loses 6-1 to Salvador, FFB nominations close Friday
The Football Federation of Belize (FFB) has provided no reports on the friendly matches scheduled to be played by our Belize U-20 in Honduras on Friday and Sunday last, November 26 and 28, or on the UNCAF qualifier last night; but the CONCACAF web site, concacaf.com, reports that Salvador won, 6-1, over Belize last night.

For Belize, the starting eleven were: Tevin Gamboa (goalkeeper), Asrel Sutherland, Edwin Palma, Nelson Linares, Adgar Adderley, Denmark Casey, Luis Torres, David Ramos, Abraham Chavez, Gabriel Perez, Michael Salazar. Changes were: Kadeem Courtney for David Ramos (57 min), Andres Makin for Abraham Chavez (67 min), and Rollin Burgess for Nelson Linares (80 min).

Belize U-20 meets Honduras U-20 in the other UNCAF qualifier on Sunday, December 5, at 5:00 p.m. Eastern Time also in Honduras.

Meanwhile, tomorrow, December 3, is reportedly the deadline for nominations to the FFB elections, supposedly set for December 18. Supposedly, because we have yet to receive an official copy of the FFB notice of elections. The incumbent president, Bertie Chimilio, has held that post since 1998.

According to the CONCACAF web site, the address of the “Football Federation of Belize” is “26 Hummingbird Highway Belmopan, P.O. Box 1742, Belize City; President: Bertie Chimilio; Vice President: Bernaldino Pech; General Secretary: Maguerite Hulse; Treasurer: Baxter Matthews; Phone: +501/822-3410; Fax: +501/822-3377; E-mail: [email protected]; Founded: 1980; Website: www.belizefootball.bz.”
