DANGRIGA, Stann Creek District, Mon. Nov. 12, 2018– One of the biggest sporting events on the calendar for Garifuna Settlement Day celebrations in Dangriga, the T.V. Ramos Cycling Classic, took place on Sunday, November 11, from Kay’s Cool Spot on George Price Drive.
Over 80 cyclists from all over the country of Belize took part in this race, which was in 3 categories: Elite riders, which we all know as the Cross Country riders; the Junior riders; and Weekend Warriors “A” and “B” riders.
In results from the Weekend Warriors “B” category, 2nd place went to Michael Wagner, and in 1st place was Armando Moralez. For the Weekend Warriors “A” category, 4th was Hector Tzuleta; 3rd was Mr. Ray Cattouse from Team C-Ray; 2nd was Preston Martinez from Team M & M Engineering; and 1st place went to Warren Coye from Team Santino’s.
In the Juniors category: 3rd place – Windell Williams from Team Marie Sharp; 2nd place – Erick Trapp from Team Clear The Land; and 1st place – Patrick Williams from Team Marie Sharp.
In the Elite category, which is the Cross Country riders, 4th place went to the champion of last year, Brandon Cattouse from Team Smart; 3rd was Nissan Arana from Team Westrac; in 2nd place was Herman Requena from Team Westrac; and our T.V. Ramos Cycling Classic Champion of Champions for this year 2018/2019 went to Team Smart once again; this year it is Oscar Quiroz.
