BELIZE CITY, Sat. Aug. 31, 2019– Devaun Maskall, 25, of Mile 4, Philip Goldson Highway, Belize City, and his girlfriend, drove into their yard at about 12:30 this morning, and he got out of his car to go into the house, to which they had recently moved.

A gunman, however, was lurking in the shadows in the yard. The assailant ran from his cover and fired at Maskall, who tried to escape. The gunman, however, chased and shot him. Maskall fell to the ground and the gunman ran out of the area and into a waiting vehicle, which then drove away.

Police said that when they went to Maskall’s yard, he was already dead. Police said that they don’t yet know the motive for Maskall’s murder.

Those who knew him said that Maskall was friendly and loved to share jokes.
