Sheriffs’ Abigail Hoare hits vs BzeBank Bulldogs

The Bowen & Bowen Brewers enjoyed 2 back to back wins, while the Education Sheriffs won 2 and lost one when the 2025 Belize City Interoffice Softball Competition continued with 7 games at the Rogers Stadium in Belize City over the weekend, March 28-30.

Education Sheriffs won, 27-20, vs Maritime Enforcers, and 11-4 vs BzeBank Bulldogs

In Game 1 on Friday evening, the Health Heartbreakers prevailed, 20-18, over the Atlantic Bank/Customs, as they collected 9 hits off pitcher Jaime Perdomo, who also walked 8 batters. The bankers’ diamond made 13 errors, allowing the Heartbreakers’ Richard Barrow to cross the plate 5 times, while Keiron James scored 4 runs, and Neil Nicholson and Justin Bailey scored 3 runs each. Natasha Flowers scored 2 runs, and Nickeisha Flowers, Andrea Castillo and Kyle Williams scored a run apiece.

Kyle Valerio led Atlantic Bank, scoring 5 runs, and Tanya Flores, Caleb Joseph and Shanique Baltazar scored 3 runs each. Ronel Lopez and Ada Quiñonez scored two runs apiece.

In Friday’s nightcap, the Sheriffs collected 14 hits off Justin Gillett’s pitching, to arrest the Maritime Enforcers, 26-9, by mercy rule in 5 innings. Gillett struck out 3 batters, but walked 12, and the diamond made 9 errors, allowing the Sheriffs’ Earl Noralez to cross the plate 5 times. Linton Broaster hit a home run, as he and Chynere Wade scored 4 runs each, while Shaquile Moody and David Anderson each scored 3 runs. Adam Gomez scored twice, and Herman Ramos, Nathaniel Perera, Claudette Williams, Sherraine Sutherland and Rushelly Smith each scored a run.

Williams and her relief, Sutherland, struck out 4 batters and walked 3. The Sheriffs’ diamond made 8 errors, allowing the Enforcers’ Aaliyah Pilgrim and Ryan Silva to each cross the plate twice, while Kimberly Lodge, Justin Gillett, Boris Villanueva, Sherwin Valerio and Jevon Mackenzie scored a run apiece.

In Game 1 on Saturday afternoon, the H.R.C.U. Eagles shorted out the B.E.L. Powersockets, 15-10, collecting 15 hits off pitcher Jorge Fabro, who struck out 3 batters and walked 7. Darren Leal hit a home run, as he and Reynaldo Duran crossed the plate thrice. Chris Peyrefitte also hit a home run, as he, Aleesha Taylor and Dylon Moguel each scored 2 runs. Garrick Ellis, Veleesha Taylor and Rashid Bethran each scored a run.

BEL collected 9 hits off Chris Peyrefitte, who struck out one batter and walked 4. The Eagles made 5 errors, and BEL’s Jefferson Spencer hit a home run, as he, James Paxton and Fabro scored 2 runs apiece. Shanti Roches, Joseph Enriquez, Melissa Forman and Joanna Louriano each scored a run.

In Game 2 on Saturday evening, the Brewers hammered out a 22-15 win over Belize Water Services (BWS), led by Alex Ellis hitting a home run as he, Roni Montejo and Rhoda Lu each crossed the plate thrice. Deon Augustus, David Vasquez, Natashia Ferguson, Elliot Frias, Karina Hernandez and Sean Reneau each crossed the plate twice, and Keisha Thompson scored a run. BWS collected 8 hits off Rhoda Lu, who also walked 6 batters. The Brewers made 9 errors, allowing BWS’s Nigel Seguro and Ammy Perez to each cross the plate 4 times, while Shemar Rowley, Glen Crawford and Conway Galvez scored 2 runs apiece. Annie Perez scored once.

In Game 3, Saturday’s nightcap, the Belize Tax Service Kollectaz outlasted the Sheriffs, 21-20. They collected 10 hits off Chynere Wade, who struck out one batter and walked 14. The Sheriffs made 10 errors, allowing Kollectaz’ Jamal Matute to cross the plate 5 times. Nirza Ramirez and Anthony Coleman each crossed plate thrice, while Ron Nicholson, Brion Neal, Vondalee Wade and Devon Banner scored 2 runs each. Karen Gillett and Omar Neal scored a run apiece.

The Sheriffs collected 15 hits off Samuel Nicholson and Banner, who struck out 2 batters and walked 2. The BTS diamond made 15 errors, allowing the Sheriffs’ Earl Noralez to cross the plate 4 times. Linton Broaster and Abraham Flowers each scored thrice, while Herman Ramos, Wade, Nathaniel Perera and Sherraine Sutherland each scored 2 runs. Rushelly Smith and Abigail Hoare scored a run apiece.

In Game 1 on Sunday afternoon, the Brewers enjoyed their 2nd win of the weekend, 13-4, over Atlantic Bank. They collected 9 hits off Ada Quiñonez, who struck out one batter and walked 9. The bankers made 9 errors, allowing Roni Montejo to score 3 runs, while Rhoda Lu, Deon Augustus, David Vasquez and Aaron Meighan each scored twice. Alex Ellis and Natashai Ferguson each scored a run. The bankers collected 5 hits off Lu, who struck out 3 batters and walked 2. The Brewers made only one error, and only Kyle Valereio, Eric Vasauez, Jose Avila and Alrick Thurton scored a run each for the bankers.

In game 2 in Sunday’s nightcap, the Sheriffs outlasted the Belize Bank Bulldogs, 11-4, by mercy rule in the 6th inning, as they collected 12 hits off Evita Marin, who struck out one batter and walked 4. The Bulldogs made 7 errors, allowing the Sheriffs’ Ramos, Wade and Adam Gomez to each score 2 runs, while Noralez, Broaster, Hoare, Anderson and Giovanni Moody scored a run apiece. The Bulldogs collected 5 hits off Claudette Williams, who walked 3 batters. Only Taalib Smith and Anthony Ifield scored 2 runs each for the Bulldogs.
