Isis Nassar, 54, art teacher, murdered in Orange Walk

GeneralIsis Nassar, 54, art teacher, murdered in Orange Walk
Amandala has confirmed that Isis Nassar, 54, a dual British/Lebanese national and art teacher, was found dead in a residence on Riverside Drive, Orange Walk Town, this morning. She reportedly was discovered with her hands and feet tied up, a cut wound on the neck, and bruises on her elbow.

We understand that the house had also been ransacked and a point of forced entry was discovered. As a result, police are considering robbery as a part of their investigation, also. There are reports that she had been sexually assaulted, which the police have refused to confirm at this point in their investigation.

It is uncertain about when was the last time she was seen, but one of her art students suspected something was amiss when she did not show up for class. That was when she was discovered in her residence.

Nassar had not been in Belize very long, and estimates are that she was here for less than 6 weeks; she was a well-travelled art teacher who visited other parts of Belize. She recently decided to spend some time teaching art in Orange Walk.

Police have not issued any official details on her murder at this time; no suspects or motives have been officially announced up to press time.
